Spend a relaxing evening learning the basics of setting up and weaving on a frame loom to create your own mini wall hanging.

The Old Courts

With our expert weaver, Emily, on hand to teach you and answer any questions, you will leave the workshop with the creative know-how and tools to carry on weaving at home. The session will cover a variety of traditional and contemporary tapestry weaving techniques as well as providing you with a range of materials and yarns to create a unique work of art! Before you leave, you will also learn how to tie off any loose ends and display your woven piece of art on a wooden dowel. This workshop is perfect for those who are new to weaving and want to learn a new creative skill, made even easier as the loom is yours to take away, along with a weaving cheat sheet, so you can carry on weaving even after the workshop is over. Weaving is a wonderfully mindful activity, and the session is a relaxing way to spend a Thursday evening after work with friends.There are two pay-as-you-feel tickets for those experiencing financial hardship. If you feel like this applies to you (we won&#x27;t ask any questions!), please email marketing@everydaywigan.org.uk to book your ticket. PLEASE NOTE: This session is an 18+ event. One ticket is required per person attending.PLEASE NOTE: In order to make our events financially sustainable, we do need 5 or more bookings for the workshop to go ahead. We will be in touch 24 hours before the start time in the event that we do need to cancel. On the rare occasion this does need to take place, you will receive a full refund.REFUND POLICY: If you find you cannot attend the event, please get in touch with us as soon as possible. We cannot offer refunds if you cancel within 48 hours of the event taking place.How to find us:Everyday is situated in The Old Courts (<a href="https://www.theoldcourts.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.theoldcourts.com/</a>) and the session will be held in the Community Room. Please come to entrance 5 (you will see an Everyday sign!) and a member of staff will let you in a few minutes before the start time. Don’t worry if you are late! We will check the door periodically if any attendees are missing.Public Transport: The Old Courts is a 5 minute walk (0.2 miles) from Wigan Bus Station, a 2 minute walk (0.1 miles) from Wigan Wallgate Railway Station and a 3 minute walk (0.2 miles) from Wigan North Western Railway Station.Parking: There is room for cars to pick up and drop off just outside The Old Courts on Crawford Street. Parking on Crawford Street is free after 6.30pm and on Sundays.Nearby car parks include The Grand Arcade (4 minute walk / 0.2 miles), Mona Street Car Park (4 minute walk / 0.2 miles) and Dorning Street Car Park (2 minute walk / 0.2 miles).Blue badge holders are entitled to park on the single yellow line on Crawford Street during its times of operation for up to 3 hours without charge.Accessibility: The Community Room at The Old Courts is fully wheelchair accessible with accessible toilet facilities.
