Hebden Royd Town Council (HRTC) is excited to announce a vibrant line-up of free community events, celebrating National Meadows Day, on Saturday, July 1, 2023.

Roll up your sleeves and join us on July 1st, 2023 at 9:30 AM to learn the basics of dry stone walling and help Dave restore a beautiful dry stone wall. ' No prior experience required!Following a brief introduction and necessary safety related instructions, you'll be introduced to various traditional drystone walling techniques . Lifting and manual labour is involved, but you will not be expected to exceed your abilities.After you have completed the introductory session, you'll actively contribute to the restoration of a dry stone wall on High Hirst Woodmeadow. You can stay for as long, or as short a time as you would like.Maximum number of participants is 5, so book your place now. This should be an unforgettable experience of teamwork, learning, and heritage restoration. Supervised children over the age of 8 welcome!CLOTHINGPlease wear either strong walking boots or steel-capped work boots. Bring gloves. Gardening gloves are fine. Please also wear weather appropriate clothesG﻿ETTING THEREW﻿alking/cycling.Please note, there is no pavement on the walk up Sandy Gate to the High Hirst Woodmeadow Project. Please take care on the road and walk in single file.DRIVINGLimited parking for guests with limited mobility is available on Manor Drive, Dodnaze. All other attendees are welcome to use the nearby Hebden Bridge IOU hostel/Birchcliffe Centre car park, located just five minutes away on foot.TOILETSDodnaze Community Centre, Manor Drive.Please plan to arrive at 9.20am for an 9.30am start
