Maths Explorers

In collaboration with Maths Week London 2023 - Join us for a FREE maths enrichment session online, Ages 9yrs-11yrs.  Topic "Polyominoes '

Polyominoes are a family of shapes that have been popularised in many board &amp; digital games over the years, one of the most famous ones being 'Tetris'. A polyomino is a plane geometric figure formed by joining one or more equal squares edge to edge, they are kind of everywhere once we know how to spot them! Come join us for an introduction to this fun shape and an investigation you can get stuck into!This will be a facilitator led, live session! Your cameras can be on or off as per your child's wishes, but there will be no audio chat. Young people can interact with the challenges on the whiteboard we send them and they can send their questions and observations in writing through the Zoom chat box.

<h3>Booking Info</h3>This event is free to attend but booking is essential. Once you have booked your place on Eventbrite we will send you a Zoom registration link. On the morning of the event, we will send your child's own copy of a digital whiteboard with the polyomino activities and their Zoom link &amp; password. Your child will need a device such as a laptop or tablet to join the call. We're sorry but Kindle Fires will not work with the whiteboard and your device will need a browser other than Internet Explorer to open their whiteboard. Mobile phones can work for the Zoom call, but will not work for the whiteboard.
