Join us for a  new creative afterschool activity with artist Angela Ford, who will show us how to make art with nature and clay

This fun and free afterschool workshop at Stanley Picker Gallery for children ages 7-11, will introduce the use of clay, plants, and plaster in the creation of a relief plaster cast tile. The young aritsts will be taught how to handle and manipulate materials safely, as well as the procedures involved.There will be a variety of wildflowers, foliage, and insect rubber stamps for you to select from, but you are also welcome to bring a few flowers and leaves of your choosing from your garden if you wish.Parents are encouraged to drop their children off and return at the end of the session, to see what has been going on and visit the exhibition together. Sessions are led by Angela Ford a Kingston School of Art lecturer and technician, and complement the Callery’s current exhibition Ligaya Salazars&#x27; A World of Islands – On Palms, Storms and Coconuts a multi-disciplinary display which considers the movement of indigenous knowledge, practices, materials and people, and historical and current fabrications of tropical utopia and dystopia.ClothingOccasionally, activities can be messy.
