They offer assistance to vulnerable individuals who have been wounded, stranded or displaced. Since the full-scale invasion in February 2022 their main focus has been providing essential medical aid to Ukraine to help with emergency and relief operations.BUAid’s list of projectsis continually evolving. For one night only, British-Ukrainian Aid and The Royal Scots invite you to “Muse Ukraine: Indomitable Spirit&#x27;&#x27; which presents an all-Ukrainian music programme, unveiling the long-lost gems of the musical and cultural heritage of Ukraine. Rising above the multitude of difficult historic times, past and present, this music honours the indomitable spirit of those who stand for the basis of humanity- a life in freedom and peace.“Muse Ukraine: Indomitable Spirit” is a project of an ongoing collaboration between two artists, Ukrainian-American violinist Myroslava Khomik and Finnish-British pianist Julia Wallin, who believe that the power of music can serve as the best communicative tool in most challenging times. They dedicate their unique programs to a message that serves a deeper purpose of cultural diplomacy, education, conversation and understanding of common values.This concert is a third edition of Myroslava Khomik’s “Muse Ukraine” initiative uniting colleagues and friends worldwide in the common endeavor to stand up for these important values and speak up through their unique artistic voices. The series saw her performing across Europe and the US in 2022-2023 since the start of the war. It is part of her “Beyond the Muse” program presenting meaningful and timely subjects through creative means and educational elements.Julia and Myroslava partner their efforts with humanitarian and diplomatic organizations, such as British Ukrainian Aid, Reform Club, Finnish Embassy, and The Royal Scots among others, to raise funds and awareness of the ever-rising need for attention to this important part of spiritual unity among nations.All proceeds of the concert will be donated to British-Ukrainian Aid to support relief and rescue operations in Ukraine, and the ticket price of £25 will contribute to the purchase of: A medical First Aid Kit (£100) A Portable Generator (£300-1500) An Ambulance (£8000)ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Ukranian-born violinist MYROSLAVA KHOMIK brings her music making not only to the most prestigious concert halls and festivals around the world, but also loves curating and collaborating in multimedia projects. Known for her musical depth and sensitive approach, Ms. Khomik is passionate about innovative programming, mixing different art forms and looking for the profundity of message in creative expression. Based in Los Angeles, Myroslava is an avid promoter of contemporary composers, educational outreach, and regularly participates in premieres of new works. After her last tour in South America in 2018 promoting an all-Ukrainian composers program, Ms. Khomik was awarded a New Artist of the year award in Argentina, and was featured on various TV and radio broadcasts.A winner of solo and chamber music competitions (including the Remember Enescu in Romania and the New Names of Ukraine) and multiple education grants and fellowships, Ms. Khomik’s most recent highlights focus on three new commissions for solo violin and an upcoming release of her debut albums featuring Ukrainian composers; performances with the Orchestra del Teatro Goldoni di Livorno (Benevento, Italy) and Mozart Classical Orchestra (Laguna Beach, USA), a guest appearance as a featured soloist at the opening the 33rd International Music Festival of Para in Brazil; curated solo recitals in live international broadcasts presented by the Lviv Philharmonic (Ukraine), Las Vegas Philharmonic and the Broadway World (USA) in 2020-2021; performances with Orquestra Sinfonica do Theatro da Paz (Belem, Brazil), Kyiv Kamerata (Ukraine), Orquesta de Camara del Congreso de la Nacion (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Orquesta Filarmónica del Desierto Coahuilla (Mexico), Orquestra Sinfonica EAFIT (Medellin, Colombia), Orquesta Filarmónica de Zacatecas (Mexico), Sinfonica Orquestra de Barra Mansa (Brazil), Orquestra de la Societat de Concerts de Barcelona (Spain), as well as master class residencies in Brazil and Argentina with music programs for underprivileged children.A devoted chamber music advocate, Ms. Khomik had the privilege of collaborating and performing alongside many distinguished artists, such as the Borromeo, Jerusalem, Ysaye and Tokyo String Quartets, Midori Goto, Oleh Krysa, Carol Wincec, Fred Sherry, Ronald Leonard, Robert Davidovici, Michelle Zukovsky, Antonio Lysy, Guillaume Sutre, Movses Pogossian, among others. She frequently appears in chamber music series in Los Angeles (LACMA Sundays Live, Broad Stage Series, Redcat Series), and is an active recitalist in New York and Europe.As an educator, Ms. Khomik is driven by the belief in the importance of music in our society and its perpetuating role of bringing depth to the education of young generations. After completing her Doctorate in Musical Arts degree, she has taught at several universities including UCLA, Biola University and Fullerton College, given master classes and guest lectures throughout the US, Mexico, and in Malaysia, and is an artist in residence at La Sierra University.Passionate for entrepreneurial approach to classical music and innovative arts education, together with her international music colleagues during the pandemic she co-founded one of the largest online music festivals to date, Nextus Festival- a unique project organized by musicians from around the globe, and launched in 2021.As a performer and an avid researcher of the forgotten musical gems, Ms. Khomik has been dedicating much of her concert activities throughout the years to promoting Ukrainian culture through music and artistic presentations, raising much needed awareness for her homeland’s turbulent history and rich cultural heritage. Over the past year, after initiating the series of concerts in Los Angeles LArtists 4 Ukraine for local fundraising efforts with the artistic community, and co-founding the global musician’s initiative Help Musicians Ukraine, over the summer Ms. Khomik completed a recital tour in Europe and the UK presenting curated recitals in her series “Muse Ukraine: A Journey Through Time”- to help raise awareness of Ukrainian composers, culture, and to raise funds for humanitarian aid.

“…a born colourist …eagerly anticipated return… Wallin left a deep impression” Fringereview, Dr Simon Jenner“ …the concert exceeded all expectations…Wallin has an ability to vividly create a story behind masterworks, creating an unique athmosphere…” Finnish Ambassador to Malaysia, Petri Puhakka Julia Wallin, UK based Finnish concert pianist, has performed as a soloist and chamber musician across Europe, Asia, Scandinavia, US and UK and won prizes in several competitions such as Royal Academy of Music’s prestigious Wilfrid Parry competition and Poleeni Lied Piano Competition.Wallin has performed as a concerto soloist with Gramophone awarded Sinfonia Lahti, Slaithwaite Philharmonic, Sigyn Sinfonietta etc. to great critical acclaim, in January 2019 she played her solo debut in London’s iconic St-Martin- in- the- Fields, where she was invited back to perform in March 2020. Her festival performances include Joroinen Music Festival, Brighton Fringe and Aboa Nova to name but few. In Autumn 2017 Wallin performed at Kensington Palace to HRH Duchess of Cambridge.Julia Wallin has recorded her debut album together with eight time Grammy winner producer, Andreas Neubronner. The album containing music by Sibelius, Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff and Debussy, will be released in 2023.One of Wallin’s most important roles is promoting Nordic and especially Finnish piano music. Originally from Sibelius’ birth town, Hameenlinna, she has performed all Finnish programs across the world introducing new audiences to these rare gems. Devoted supporter of contemporary composers, Wallin will give world premieres of several works from award winning composers such as Geoffrey Gordon (Cleveland Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Munich Philharmonic) and Benjamin Ellin (Philharmonia Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre National de Lyon). Since 2022 Wallin started to perform all Ukrainian concerts together with violinist Dr. Myroslava Khomik. MUSE UKRAINE: “Indomitable Spirit” are charitable concerts raising funds to British-Ukrainian Aid in collaboration with The Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment), Reform Club, The Finnish Embassy in London etc. Whilst studying at the Royal Academy of Music, Julia was given the rare opportunity to study both as a soloist and a chamber musician. She was taught by one of the most distinguished exponents of Moscow School of piano playing, Tatyana Sarkissova, as well as Andrew West, one of the most successful chamber musicians in Europe. She has further continued her studies with distinguished Professor Emeritus Christopher Elton (Royal Academy of Music) and Professor Matti Raekallio (Juilliard). Wallin is currently Lecturer of Piano at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and has taught piano at Kings College, University of London. Her students have obtained places to world’s leading conservatories such as Royal Academy of Music, Trinity Laban Conservatory (on a scholarship), Eastman and Lawrence Conservatories. She has also given masterclasses at Cambridge University.
