Understanding climate science might seem intimidating, but it's important we get to grips with it. The <a href="https://climatefresk.org/" title="https://climatefresk.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Climate Fresk</a> (formerly known as Climate Collage) turns climate science into a team game, where we work together to connect the causes, mechanisms and effects of the climate crisis, and what we can do about it. Join an interactive workshop with trained facilitators to look at climate science in more detail, learn together, challenge our assumptions and talk about the future.Thanks our funders at <a href="https://www.york.ac.uk/yesi/" title="https://www.york.ac.uk/yesi/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">YESI</a> (York Environmental Sustainability Institute) we are able to provide this community workshop free. These are small group workshops with limited spaces: We urge you only sign up if you fully intend to join, and to cancel your ticket if you can no longer attend.The activity is open to all but is primarily aimed at adults. The venue is on the ground floor and there is one step into the cafe. Climate Fresk is a France-based NGO, with the aim to make climate science more accessible using graphs and data from the UN's climate scientists. You will work as a team to find the cause &amp; effect relationships between the 42 cards. Collectively, together you will build a collage explaining climate change. <h2>What We Do</h2>The aim of YorkCliConnect is to support and strengthen the community that understands, communicates and takes action on the Climate and Nature Emergencies we are all facing.By connecting people, projects and organisations in York we facilitate the sharing of knowledge and resources, reduce duplication of effort, support and encourage one another, and grow our community. <h2>Who We Are</h2>The York CliConnect project began in April 2023 as a collaboration between three climate and nature educators – <a href="https://york.earth/www.abiperrin.com" title="https://york.earth/www.abiperrin.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Abi</a>, <a href="https://www.withmanyroots.com/about/" title="https://www.withmanyroots.com/about/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Sophia</a> and <a href="https://www.york.ac.uk/education/our-staff/academic/lynda-dunlop/" title="https://www.york.ac.uk/education/our-staff/academic/lynda-dunlop/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Lynda</a> – with invaluable admin support from Maddie and funding from the <a href="https://www.york.ac.uk/yesi/" title="https://www.york.ac.uk/yesi/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">York Environmental Sustainability Institute</a> (YESI).After an encouraging first phase, and now as a <a href="https://www.york.ac.uk/yesi/networks/york-cliconnect/" title="https://www.york.ac.uk/yesi/networks/york-cliconnect/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">YESI-supported network</a>, we are looking for the best ways to provide educational and collaboration opportunities for our community.YorkCliConnect is helping build <a href="https://york.resilienceweb.org.uk/" title="https://york.resilienceweb.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">York Resilience Web</a>.
