Join us on the 4th August to hear about Glasgow’s Innovation landscape. In our first session you will hear from the city’s three Innovation Districts followed by speakers from the wider Innovation Ecosystem.The city has developed three unique Innovation Districts that are leading the way in innovation and each focusing on differing key areas of development.<ul><li>Glasgow City Innovation District is a hub of innovation collaboration and entrepreneurship based in the heart of the city and anchored by the University of Strathclyde building on Scotland’s rich tradition of scientific excellence and industrial collaboration.</li><li>Glasgow Riverside Innovation District is anchored by the University of Glasgow and is aiming to create an environment which will boost existing collaborations with industry and encourage the formation of new ones in some of the most dynamic sectors of the economy.</li><li>The Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland (AMIDS) is Scotland’s home of manufacturing innovation. Perfectly placed to manufacture a new way, for a new world. The District is a place for bold, brave companies to come together and inspire each other to do great things. AMIDS is the home of the new National Manufacturing Institute Scotland and Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre.</li></ul>Speakers:<ul><li>Alisdair Gunn, Project Director, Glasgow City Innovation District</li><li>Mike King, Director for Economic Development, University of Glasgow/Glasgow Riverside Innovation District</li><li>Iain Bomphray, Director of the Lightweight Manufacturing Centre, AMIDS </li></ul>In our second session learn more about the growing tech and innovation community in Glasgow as we hear from speakers from three businesses in Glasgow’s wider tech ecosystem:<ul><li>Bruntwood SciTech are currently redeveloping the iconic Met Tower into a new hub for tech and digital businesses of all sizes to co-locate and benefit from being part of an innovative, collaborative tech cluster.</li><li>The new Barclays campus development opened in 2021. It houses Technology, Operations, and Functions Teams, bringing in new high-value roles to the city. Nathalie Cutting will discuss her role looking after Scotland’s High Growth Businesses, and supporting them through every stage of business growth.</li><li>CodeBase are the UK’s largest Technology Incubator who are supporting tech start-ups across Scotland and also delivering the Tech Scaler - programme for creating, developing and scaling Scottish tech start-ups.
