PAINTING WITH THREAD - a free embroidery workshop with Greenwich-based textile artist Denise Rhule

<h3><em>FREE WORKSHOP!</em></h3><h3>Come and learn how to create your own embroidered portrait with talented <a href="https://www.instagram.com/artistsrhule/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Greenwich-based textile artist Denise Rhule</a>. This is the second of three workshops that Denise is holding this summer with <a href="https://gcda.coop/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">GCDA</a>.</h3><h3>Denise will demonstrate basic embroidery stitches and show you how you can combine them to create stunning portraits using a needle and thread. All materials will be provided. These workshops are part of <a href="https://www.royalgreenwich.gov.uk/info/200224/arts_and_culture/499/arts_funding/3" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">GCDA&#x27;s Black History 365 Summer Residency programme</a> and are supported by Royal Borough of Greenwich.</h3><h3><em>FREE EXHIBITIONS!</em></h3><h3>In addition to her workshops, Denise will also be exhibiting a series of her embroidered portraits at Kidbrooke Community Hub from Mon 14th Aug - Fri 25th Aug.</h3><h3>She will also be exhibiting  at <a href="https://www.madeingreenwich.shop/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Made in Greenwich </a>(27th Sept - 6th Oct) where Denise will hold a final workshop (Friday 1st Sept) <a href="https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/painting-with-thread-gcda-bh365-workshop-tickets-668748935067" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">To book this date please click here </a></h3><h3><em>ABOUT DENISE!</em></h3><h3>Denise Rhule always loved art at school, but life led her in a different direction. She has recently rediscovered her love of making, developing her skills through a range of <a href="https://www.gcdalearning.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">free courses with GCDA </a>and Royal Borough of Greenwich. Her creative talents have found expression in a unique embroidery style that she calls &#x27;painting with thread.&#x27; </h3><h3></h3><h3></h3><h3></h3>
