The Circular Glasgow Network warmly invites you to join a relaxed session and refreshments at Glasgow House where we encourage you to connect and share your own stories about circularity, meet new faces, problem solve and celebrate what Glasgow’s SMEs are doing to make the circular economy a reality. We know that circular business models cut carbon, create jobs and boost economic growth by breaking the ongoing link between business and consumer activity and new resource use and generate more value from the existing products and materials in circulation.If we don’t develop our thinking around them, what might our future look like?Our good friends at Material Change are a specialist consultancy in social and environmental sustainability strategy and communications. They have developed VIDI, a playful augmented VR experience via which you can experience a provocative visualisation of Glasgow’s climate future allowing you to see altered worlds that might be coming our way – good or bad, depending on our how seriously we take Scotland’s net zero goals.Material’s Founder Colin Spence will walk us through why and how VIDI was developed, and how tools like this  stimulate conversation around how we can empower people to really ‘see’ the future and take positive action to contribute to the collective changes required to take proper care of our planet.We’ll also screen our Challenge the Gap film (15 mins) which we made last year with comedian Paul Black, in partnership with Waterbear and Zero Waste Scotland.Paul Black’s short-form comedy has gained millions of views via social channels, he rarely misses the mark when it comes to capturing the humour in everyday life in Glasgow. The resulting film is an entertaining and illuminating snapshot of what’s already happening in Glasgow and offers inspiration about how businesses can move to more circular models (with a few laughs rolled in).
