The Stirling Photography Festival is an inclusive celebration of community. Our mission is to develop skills, create opportunities, and build community through events, workshops, and exhibitions. Partnering with some of photography’s newest and finest talent from across the World, our aim is to connect our community through photography. Since we were established in 2018, we are delighted to have had the support of local businesses and Stirling’s creative and cultural organisations. Partnerships with Scotland's leading centres for photography, including Street Level Photoworks and Stills, strengthen our professional network and assist us in bringing leading artists to Stirling.

Reflect 2023- Stirling Photography Festival

This is the 6th year of the Stirling Photography Festival and we are delighted to be working with leading artists and organisations to deliver an exciting programme of talks, workshops and exhibitions.

A contemplation of the world and our own self-image, as contained within the ever-changing watery sphere. A relaxed and fun writing experience, using nature and photography as stimuli .Setting off from the Macrobert, we’ll walk a short way to Stirling University’s Airthrey Loch and observe both the environment and our reactions to it. We’ll forage place and memory for images and ideas, then return to reflect on what we find. You’ll combine thoughts in interesting ways to produce work that will surprise even yourself. By the end of the session, you’ll have learned how to use short writing exercises to tap into the creativity that awaits in the hidden depths of your imagination. Prepare yourself!Bring a notebook, pen and something to take pictures with.This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience in both photography and creative writing. While we’ll not be walking far or for long, please bring footwear and clothing suitable for outdoors. We will meet in the cafe bar at the Macrobert, setting off from and returning there.If you have specific accessibility needs, please let us know beforehand so we can route-plan accordingly. Free parking is available on the campus on Saturdays.

A little more about Laura including where to Follow herLapsed parachutist Laura Fyfe lives in river deep, mountain high Stirlingshire. Her poetry has been published in lit mags including Gutter and Butcher’s Dog. Her work was shortlisted in the Bridport Prize and Plaza Prose-Poetry Prizes. Pamphlet ‘The Truth Lies’ is available from Red Squirrel Press.
