Artist and recent Royal Academy graduate<a href="http://www.annahiggins.xyz/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Anna Higgins</a> leads an experimental animation workshop for children and their adults, inspired by Lotus Laurie Kang&#x27;s current exhibition at Chisenhale Gallery <a href="https://chisenhale.org.uk/exhibition/lotus-laurie-kang/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">In Cascades.</a>In this workshop, you will create small paintings on film that will then be projected at scale on slide projectors and 16mm, exploring colour, texture and material.Inks, hole punches, markers, stickers, a variety of film formats and projectors will be used to generate a series of overlapping photo-collages, that will form one giant, eye-catching installation and art work.Workshops are designed for children aged 6 to 12 and their adults. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.Booking guarantees a place but drop-ins will be accommodated within capacity.Please contact seth.pimlott@chisenhale.org.uk to discuss any access needs. A﻿rtist Bio:Anna Higgins’ expanded image-based practice incorporates found archival and contemporary material as well as her own photography, which is abstracted and re-contextualized through collage, painting, drawing, and film photography to form new perspectives and poetic interpretations.Anna graduated in 2023 from the Royal Academy Schools, London post-graduate program. Selected recent solo exhibitions include A Place Beyond Heaven (2022) and Omens (2021) at ReadingRoom, Melbourne (2021), Faraway Beach, Mackintosh Lane, London (2019), The Sick Rose, David, Melbourne (2019) and International Waters, Centre of Contemporary Photography, Melbourne (2016) Anna was the 2021 artist in residence at the Australian Archaeological Institute in Athens and is co-director of Mackintosh Lane, London. Anna lives and works in London, UK.
