Come join a FREE programme of arts activities this summer! From 28 July – 17  August 2023 all in the Chisenhale Learn + Play + Create Space! Created by Chisenhale Dance Space, Chisenhale Gallery, & Chisenhale Studios and supported by Action for Bow

J﻿oin artist and current Royal Academy student <a href="https://esthergamsu.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Esther Gamsu </a>in building a city. In this workshop we will combine sculptural techniques with play to collectively build a miniature city. Make a replica of your own building or invent a completely new place to live - participants will be encouraged to reimagine and reinvent their everyday urban surroundings using scrap materials. We will look to the work of Bodys Isek Kingelez, Yin Xiuzhen and Michael C.McMillen to explore how artists use sculpture as a way to imagine and build their own worlds.Workshops are designed for children aged 6 to 12 and their adults. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.Booking guarantees a place but drop-ins will be accommodated within capacity.Please contact seth.pimlott@chisenhale.org.uk to discuss any access needs. We will endeavour to meet all requests where possible. Esther Gamsu is an artist based in London, currently studying on the postgraduate course at The Royal Academy of Arts. She works with textiles and sculpture to explore identity, popular culture and collective experience.
