Across Britain there are war graves and memorials at over 12,000 locations. From towering and dramatic memorials which bear the names of tens of thousands of missing personnel, to small and intimate local churchyards where perhaps only one service person is commemorated, there is so much to discover.

As part of South Asian Heritage Month, come and learn about the presence of the Indian Army in the New Forest during World War One.

St Nicholas' Church

A﻿s part of South Asian Heritage Month, join us at Brockenhurst Churchyard to learn about the stories of the Indian soldiers commemorated here, and their close connections with the New Forest during the First World War. You will also get an insight into the ongoing work the Commonwealth War Graves Commission does to maintain this site and others across the world, to ensure those that served in Indian Army during both world wars are never forgotten.Tours will begin outside the entrance to St Nicholas&#x27;s Church. Parking is available in the gravel car park opposite the main church entrance. Although the tour will stick to paths, the ground is quite uneven in places. Please come dressed appropriately for the weather and wear suitable shoes. There are accessible toilet facilities on site.
