Psychoanalysis has been evolving for 150 years to become a significant body of theory and a powerful tool for understanding the human psyche still relevant today. From Sigmund Freud’s early discoveries of the power of the unconscious, psychoanalysis continues to evolve and enrich our thinking and practice.
Qualification as an International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA) accredited Psychoanalyst equips people for a viable career in private practice, to work psychoanalytically within the NHS as well as teaching, writing and supervising.
 The BPA is one of only two organisations in the UK that offers an IPA accredited training to become a psychoanalyst. We offer a comprehensive and rigorous training of a very high standard, delivered by experienced psychoanalysts, that allows candidates to feel fully equipped to manage a psychoanalytic practice.
Acceptance on to the training is highly selective and we recognise that undergoing this training is a significant investment so potential applicants will want to investigate further. If you are thinking of training, or of increasing your awareness of Psychoanalysis and the BPA, this Open Day is for you.
