The Manchester Partnership and the Cumbria Museums Consortium are delivering a programme of Museum Development for North West Museums up to March 2024.With the support of public funding from Arts Council England all Museum Development North West open workshops are free. Please help us keep them that way.If you have signed up to one of our events, but are no longer able to attend, we require you to inform us at least 48 hours before the scheduled event so that we can offer your place to someone on the waiting list.MDNW funding stipulates that priority is to be given to those working and volunteering in non-national and non-NPO accredited museums or those officially working towards accreditation. If you work in a national museum, an NPO, a non-accredited museum or outside of the museum sector, your place may be reallocated if there is a waiting list of delegates from priority museums. MDNW will inform you by email before cancelling your ticket.If you haven't received the event joining instructions two days before the event, please check your junk mail as emails about events can often go there.

Roots & Branches: Seeds for Action Programme - developed to connect Carbon Literate Certified museum people across England

Seeds for Action- Roots &amp; Branches Celebration EventWednesday 13th March 10.00am-12.30pm via ZoomWe would like to invite you to join us on the 13 March 2024 for an online event to celebrate the achievements of Roots &amp; Branches and the participating museums, reflecting on the actions pledged and taken by learners from across the programme. Do come along to meet, connect and be inspired by members of the Carbon Literate museum community and share in success stories and lessons learnt from those taking positive climate action.Roots &amp; Branches project is a collaboration between The Carbon Literacy Project, Museum Development England (MDE) and Manchester Museum, supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. The project aimed to train and certify 1,500 people from 300 museums as Carbon Literate over two years up to March 2024, and give museums an opportunity to converse, experiment, and test new ideas for a more sustainable future.Manchester Museum host the Roots, a nationally significant co-working hub of cultural environmental action that brings together museums, educators, environmentalists, artists, researchers, third sector organisations and students. This is coordinated by Hannah Hartley, Environmental Action Manager, Manchester Museum.The Branches of the project, managed by Museum Development North West (MDNW), is helping to create an environmentally aware and active sector, giving museums the tools to respond to Let’s Create, Art Council England’s 10-year strategy in which environmental responsibility is at the core.
