Challenge Walk 1  Much Wenlock Along the River       12.5 miles

The Ironbridge Gorge Walking Festival Experience- A warm welcome.- Over 60 free walks from 2 to 21 (ish) miles over a nine-day period.- Morning, afternoon and evening walks.- Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult with parental responsibility on most walks up to 10 miles and with permission on walks of a longer distance.- Dog friendly walks.- Friendly and experienced walk leaders who are passionate about walking and who love the area.- Medals for completing 25, 50, 75, 100 or 150 miles (Cartman Challenge)- An opportunity to experience the beautiful landscape of the Gorge, learn about its industrial heritage and even climb The Wrekin, one of our famous Shropshire landmarks which offers a bird’s eye view of the Gorge.- A celebration event including medals  ceremony on the last day of the Festival at the All Nations Inn from 4.30pm.

A walk to Much Wenlock following the Severn Way and returning via the Shropshire Way.

The Toll House, Ironbridge

<p>From the Toll House we follow the river to Buildwas on the Severn Way, which we continue to follow towards Sheinton. We continue towards Bannister’s Coppice, past Sheinwood Manor before climbing up to Homer offering splendid, far-reaching views. We then drop into Much Wenlock where we will have a break to explore this lovely old town, before returning to Ironbridge on the Shropshire Way. Field paths, river paths, woodland and lanes, stiles and may be muddy!   GRADE 4</p>
