This event will celebrate the life and work of distinguished author Dannie Abse MBE

Dannie Abse Remembered is an event to celebrate the centenary of distinguished author Dannie Abse CBE. Those who knew him best, including his daughter Keren Abse, Cary Archard, Tony Curtis and Lynne Hjelmgaard, will discuss his life and work, with particular focus on his poetry.The second part of the event will include readings of Dannie&#x27;s work as well as readings by poets who have been influenced by his writing such as Lynne Hjelmgaard and Kate Noakes.Join us at Carnegie House in Bridgend, not far from Dannie’s family home in Ogmore-by-Sea, to celebrate the centenary of this important author and his seminal contribution to literature from Wales. This is event is organised by Seren and The Seren Cardiff Poetry Festival. A﻿ccessibility:O﻿n street parking is available outside the venue after 6pm. There is ramp access to the building and life access inside as well as disabled toilets on site. Please contact us to discuss other access requirements such as BSL interpretation, and we will do our best to accommodate everyone’s needs. Getting here:Carnegie House is a 5 minute walk from Bridgend train station. Bridgend Bus station is also nearby.
