The GM Ringway is Greater Manchester’s walking trail. Covering all ten boroughs of the city-region, the trail explores an astonishing variety of landscapes, including parks, waterways and beautiful countryside.Easily accessed by public transport, each of the trail’s 20 stages offers a unique walking experience. The GM Ringway visits some of the region's most iconic landscapes, including historic canals, the Mersey Valley, the Peak District National Park, the South and West Pennines, and the new 'Flashes of Wigan and Leigh' National Nature Reserve.

Join GM Ringway for a leisurely 4-mile circular walk around Greenfield and Uppermill, as part of Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity’s Circle Home initiative to end homelessness in Greater Manchester.Please note: this walk was previously advertised as step-free, however there are some steps, some gradients (both up and down) and some sections of path which are uneven or muddy, meaning that this walk may not be suitable for wheelchair users. Together, we can end homelessness.The 4 mile (6.4 kilometre) circular route will start and end at Greenfield train station. While the route is leisurely, it does include a couple of ascents and descents. It represents a great opportunity to sample the beautiful scenery of Saddleworth, the little bit of Pennine Yorkshire within Greater Manchester’s boundaries.Your hosts will be waiting to greet you at Greenfield train station at 12:30 ready to head off at 12.45 expecting to finish around 15:00Whether you&#x27;re new to this kind of activity, looking for something different to fill your weekend or getting ready to get back on the trails, this is the walk for you.
