Fifty years ago this month.</h3><h3>Engineering workers, at East Kilbride&#x27;s Rolls Royce factory, showed their support for the people of Chile by refusing to repair jet engines from the Hawker Hunter fighters used against Chile&#x27;s democratically-elected President Allende. Resisting pressure to end their action, the boycott lasted four years, but the Scottish workers never truly knew what its impact had been in Chile. </h3><h3>Felipe Bustos Sierra, the film&#x27;s Edinburgh-based Chilean director, takes a considered approach, using archive news footage, interviewing members of the Chilean military and tracking down dissidents. The result is a stirring documentary that treats its subjects with a humanity that befits their courageous actions.</h3><h3>Our previous screening of <strong><em>Nae Pasaran!</em></strong> in February 2019, attracted our largest audience and was enthusiastically received.
