The Culture & Society RKEI at the University of Chester runs an exciting series of public talks each year. Join us to engage with cutting edge research, hear from  international speakers and to ponder important questions of our time. All welcome!

Jackie Kay is an internationally-acclaimed Scottish poet and novelist, who received her CBE for Services to Literature in 2020. She was also appointed in 2016 to the prestigious position of Makar or National Poet of Scotland. Jackie is currently Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Salford, and is much in demand for readings in the UK and internationally, her early drama training having equipped her to be a superb performer of her own work and a very engaging presence.Her subtle investigation into the complexities of identity have very much been informed by her own life.
