Established in 1905, the Royal Society of Sculptors is the oldest and largest organisation dedicated to sculpture in the UK. You can experience sculpture/3D art through exhibitions as well as our learning and outreach programmes, both online and at our galleries in London's South Kensington.

The Behind the Studio Doors series is back with a focus on international members of the Society

Behind the Studio Doors is an ongoing programme of talks with members of the Royal Society of Sculptors, chaired by curator and writer Isabel de Vasconcellos. For this new series, we are once again showcasing our members' studios around the world.--Daphne Wright FRSS makes sculptural installations using a variety of techniques and media to explore how a range of languages and materials can be used to probe unspoken human preoccupations.Wright’s work quietly addresses the human condition and the important stages of life we all pass through, those that are at once poignant and mundane. Her work is concerned with boundaries and the transitory areas of life, exploring the cusp of childhood and adulthood, as well as the spaces and borderlines between life and death. Using a wide range of materials and techniques - plaster, tin foil, video, printmaking, found objects, and performance - she creates beautiful and rather eerie worlds that feel like the threshold to somewhere new.
