The Cotswold Climathon

Based at the University of Gloucestershire, the Countryside and Community Research Institute (CCRI)is the largest specialist rural research centre in the UK, having expertise in all aspects of research in policy and planning for the countryside and the environment of the UK, Europe and further afield.

A Climathon is an event where communities can discuss, debate, and develop locally-relevant net zero solutions.

How can food, farming and land use help achieve net zero? This event will bring together farmers, rural citizens, local NGOs, and other key stakeholders, to develop projects focused on food, farming and land use's contribution to net zero. On Wednesday 27th September, we'll start with a 1.5-hour morning webinar, where we'll begin to develop project ideas together, and have time for questions. On Thursday 28th September, the in-person Climathon will take place at Farm 491, Cirencester. The organisers will provide support and facilitation, with the goal that by the end of the day participants will have developed a set of potential solutions for food, farming and net zero in Cotswold District. After registration, we will send you a participant information sheet explaining how we will use any data we collect, and a consent form to sign either pre-event or on arrival.
