How is LGBTQIA+ inclusion and affirmation deeply Christian AND faithful to an honest reading of the Biblical texts?Join us for this interactive workshop with Rev Jide Macaulay held over two days in Birmingham City Centre to explore these questions and more. Hosted by <a href="https://www.inclusivegathering.org.uk" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Inclusive Gathering Birmingham</a> and House of Rainbow.Saturday (10:00 AM - 5:00 PM):<ul><li><ul><li>Introduction and Icebreaker: Setting the tone and getting to know each other.</li><li>Topic 1: Queering the Bible &amp; Creationism</li><li>Topic 2: Same Sex Relationship in the Bible</li><li>Lunch Break: Time for people to have lunch, either by bringing their own food or getting something from nearby options.</li><li>Topic 3:Terror Text or Clobber Passages</li><li>Topic 4: Homoeroticism in the Bible &amp; Unnatural Acts in Romans, Key Issues in Romans &amp; Corinthians.</li><li>Wrap-up and Q&amp;A: Summarizing the day's discussions and answering any questions.</li></ul></li></ul>Sunday (10:00 AM - 1:00 PM):<ul><li><ul><li>Recap: A brief summary of the previous day's key points for those who attended.</li><li>Topic : Queering the Bible &amp; Creationism; Same Sex Relationship in the Bible &amp; Terror Text or Clobber Passages</li><li>Open Discussion: Encouraging participants to share their thoughts and experiences related to the topics covered so far.</li></ul></li></ul>LONG LUNCH BREAKSunday (3- 5PM at Ibis Hotel Arcadian – 21 Ladywell Walk) A Liberational View of Scripture + Q&amp;A with Rev Jide MacaulayThe bulk of the material will be delivered on the Saturday, but we encourage you to come along for as much of the weekend as you are able.Suggested donation £10-15 – do not let finance prevent you from attending. Snacks &amp; Drinks provided. Paid parking is available off site and public transportation is encouraged. Only minimal parking is available on site which will be reserved for those access needs. The venue is itself is wheelchair accessible with accessible toilets. He is the Founder and CEO of House Of Rainbow CIC, a Christian minister since 1998, and an Anglican Priest. With an impressive educational background, Jide holds a degree in Law, a master's degree in Theology, and a post-graduate certificate in Pastoral Theology.Jide's ministry is deeply rooted in the principles of inclusion and reconciliation, focusing on harmonizing sexuality, spirituality, and human rights. His advocacy work extends to various organizations, where he has served as a Board of Trustee at Kaleidoscope Trust UK, and a Trustee for Global Interfaith Network. Presently, he holds the position of Chairperson for INERELA+ Europe, and is a Patron at ReportOut, Chair of One Voice Network, HIV-Mentor at Positive East, and George House Trust.His dedication and efforts have earned him recognition, as he served as a Judge at the British LGBT Award in 2023, and received multiple nOSCARS Awards in 2014, 2017, and 2018. Reverend Jide Macaulay also contributes as a Volunteer Chaplain at Mildmay HIV Hospital and a Volunteer Champion at Afruca Children's Charity, further exemplifying his commitment to social causes and activism._ _________________________________________I nclusive Gathering Birmingham is a diverse, justice-seeking, LGBTQIA+ affirming church for all based in Birmingham City Centre's Southside District.
