F﻿ree2BMe Neurodiversity offers training, workshops and consultancy services around different aspects of neurodiversity, mostly around neurodiversity and mental health and counselling. We are a UK-wide, neurodivergent led and staffed service. Our training and workshops are always facilitated by neurodivergent trainers and we consult with neurodivergent people about our training content.

Exploring neurodivergent communication preferences and how they influence relationships &amp; relational work between client &amp; therapist

Spicy Spaces

Spicy Spaces are online, informal discussion based learning sessions on neurodiversity related topics that are relevant to practice in counselling/psychotherapy, coaching, and other mental health and allied work.

Neurodivergent clients often feel misunderstood and struggle to communicate in a way that builds and cements vital relationships. Understanding neurodivergent communication styles and preferences is vital for effective therapeutic outcomes. In this session we will explore <ul><li>the ways neurodivergent people may prefer to work with us and connect with others, such as using direct, deep and literal conversation styles and anecdotal vs questioning interactions. </li><li> non-verbal cues and challenges with focus, eye contact and movement</li></ul>This is a Spicy Space session where we focus on sharing our experiences and insights, and work together to better understand how we can work neurodivergent people. After a brief introduction, we will use group discussion to explore the topic. Places are limited to enable deeper connection and sharing. Anticipated group size is 5-12.Please note we will encourage you to have your CAMERAS ON, for this event, to facilitate open and constructive discussions amongst the participants. We recognise some may prefer to leave them off. The facilitator will ask for participants to turn their cameras on at the start of the event. Please do not feel pressured to do so if that makes you uncomfortable - but letting the facilitator know you prefer your camera off is helpful, either before, or at the start of the session.
