Overview

Telecom AI: Solutions and Future Research Challenges

Join us at the Institute for Communication Systems (ICS) at the University of Surrey in Guildford, for the 7th edition of the 6GIC SeLected Advanced TopICs WorKshop Series (6GIC-CLICK).

This exciting event will bring together experts and enthusiasts from the field of "Telecom AI: Solutions and Future Research Challenges", to discuss the latest advancements and innovations.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming telecommunications by enabling intelligent, self-optimising, and energy-efficient network management. In the 6G era, ultra-connected, self-organising networks must balance high performance, low latency, and sustainability while processing vast real-time data from edge devices, Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, and satellites. Traditional AI models face challenges in the future complex and highly dynamic telecommunication networks, requiring large multi-agent and large AI models to achieve autonomous, adaptive, and energy-aware decision-making that enable proactive optimisation, self-healing, and efficient use of renewable energy. New solutions based on large telecommunication foundation models and agentic AI are to be developed enabling autonomy and flexibility, to enhance interoperability, scalability, and context-aware intelligence across heterogeneous networks. These solutions will be discussed in this workshop along with the corresponding future research challenges on trustworthy, explainable, and energy-efficient AI systems to ensure sustainable, intelligent 6G networks and beyond.

Why attend?

Research towards large AI solutions in future telecommunication networks has already commenced and in this workshop we will cover some of the key challenges, including:

  • Integration of large AI models and Agentic AI for Intelligent 6G
  • Foundation Models and Edge Intelligence for Telecoms
  • Energy-Efficient and Sustainable Network Intelligence
  • Autonomous and Self-Organising Network Control
  • Trust, Security, and Standardisation of AI-Driven Networks
  • Standardisation, Benchmarking, and Testbeds
