As the ITU defines 6G requirements more clearly as a global phenomenon, we must work in earnest on solutions to support those requirements. We know that technical solutions will need to innovate to support demands that have traditionally pulled in different directions: Low latency versus security, or intensive computing versus low energy, for example.
Beyond the technical, we need to innovate operational models, value chains, business models, skills, regulation and more. The telecoms sector needs confidence that investment can be profitable and understand how to achieve it – not just more hype!
