Cross-Party Group on the Active Travel Act

Join the Cross-Party Group on the Active Travel Act in a series of events to mark 10 years of Wales' landmark Active Travel Act

The Senedd Cross-Party Group on the Active Travel Act is organising a series of events to mark the 10th Anniversary of the passing of Wales’ unique Active Travel Act. The events will take place on Wednesday, October 4th. Events include<ul><li>A﻿ bike ride starting at 12.00 noon from <a href="https://www.cardiffpedalpower.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Pedal Power Inclusive Cycle Centre</a> in Sophia Gardens and arriving at the steps of the Senedd at 12.50pm (organised in association with Cycling UK).</li><li>A﻿ circular walk starting at 12.25pm from the steps of the Senedd and arriving back there at 12.50pm (organised in association with Living Streets and the RNIB).</li><li>H﻿ear from key MSs, including Lee Waters MS, Deputy Minister for Climate Change, on the steps of the Senedd at 1.00pm.</li><li>A﻿ discussion on 'Why active travel matters and how we can encourage more people to embrace it' with a special guest panel including Chris Boardman, Active Travel Commissioner for England, Julie Bishop (Director of Health Improvement, Public Health Wales), Julia Crear (Head of Projects and Technical Services, Living Streets) and Sian Donovan (Director, Pedal Power Inclusive Cycling Centre). The discussion will be chaired by Huw Irranca-Davies MS and will be held from 1.15pm to 2.00pm in the Pierhead Building.</li><li>F﻿rom 2.00pm a series of workshops on active travel themes and a chance to vist active realted stalls, all in the Pierhead.</li></ul> All the events are free of charge, but spaces are limited so please get your tickets now.
