<h2>O﻿verview</h2><p>This day will include some theory around using the arts therapeutically and the creative process, but much of the day will be responding to images and making art, reflecting on the process and towards the end of the day collaborating together in small groups to exhibit the art to one another.</p><h2>A﻿bout the presenter</h2><h3>Karen Stallard</h3><p>Karen Stallard is a registered Psychotherapist with UKCP, registered Counsellor with BACP and registered Art Therapist with HCPC and BAAT.
</p><p>She trained at The Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education where she gained a Masters in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy. Karen runs a private practice called Feeling Found, which is based in Highbury and Islington, London. Outside of private practice Karen is the course director for the Certificate in counselling skills with children using the arts at The Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education and a senior lead trainer and supervisor for Trauma Informed Schools UK.</p><p>Karen has also worked an honorary therapist at the Women’s Service in Oxley’s NHS Trust for over four years and as a spiritual and cultural care coordinator at the East London and City Mental Health Trust for seven years. Karen is also on the Steering Group for a bi-annual conference called ‘Continuing the Journey’, which provides training to therapists and spiritual leaders and she has taught Art therapy to degree level students at Goldsmiths University.
