<h2>O﻿verview</h2><p>During the day we will explore why stories are such a powerful tool for working with children and young people and consider a number of ways to work with them. Underpinned by up-to-date theory the day will bring experiential learning and creativity to the fore. Through encounters with imagination and creativity children can learn to symbolise their feelings into meaning and find voice, expression and description for their inner worlds, which can then be witnessed and heard by an empathic other.</p><p>You will gain an understanding about the use of the arts in creating therapeutic stories.</p><p>Through this mixture of theoretical learning, listening to stories, experiential exploration it is Ellie’s intention that you will leave the day with a toolbox full of rich and useful idea.
</p><h2>A﻿bout the presenter</h2><h3>Ellie Baker</h3><p>Ellie is an internationally applauded UKCP registered Integrative Child Psychotherapist. Ellie is a returning guest trainer for Integrative Child Psychotherapy, The Therapeutic Arts Diploma (IATE, London).  She is a Lead Trainer for Trauma Informed School UK and was Director of the London Based course.</p><p>Ellie has been a Chair for The Centre for Child Mental Health for over 15 years and regularly presents for CCMH at conferences. An Educational Consultant, Supervisor and Key-Note Speaker Ellie is also a Consultant and Trainer in Parenting and Communication Skills. Founder of HeartSpace, Holistic, Education and Art Related Therapies.</p><p>Ellie has worked for over 30 years with children and young people across a variety of settings at home and abroad including: Education, Community, Social Services and CAMHS, as well as in private practice. Ellie is passionate about working with the Arts and Storytelling to help develop Emotional Health and Well Being to all people.</p>
