In a single year, ChatGPT accelerated that – for better and worse.Alan Turing gave us his eponymously named test when computers were just lumbering monsters and software in its infancy. What would he make of things now? Excited, alarmed or surprised by generative AI’s growing potential – and the technology politics around it?Join us for a lively debate and Q&amp;A online at TNMOC on October 13 as together we try to establish what Turing might make of events. This is a great opportunity to hear from, and put your questions, to:Sir Dermot Turing, acclaimed author and nephew of Alan, who will provide unique insights into his uncle&#x27;s visionary contributions to computing and the broader implications of AI. Drawing from his family connection and research, Dermot will look at how Alan’s legacy aligns with developments, including models&#x27; ability to produce human-level responses and outputs.Todd Holloway, enterprise IT security expert and an authority on ChatGPT and its applications, who will link theory with practice. Todd will discuss ChatGPT’s capabilities, limitations and impact. He will provide context on the way AI models have evolved and the ethical considerations.Joanna Bryson, an authority on intelligence and professor of ethics and technology at The Hertie School of Governance in Berlin who is working with governments and others around the world on the implications and ethics of AI.
