Blanchardstown Tidy Towns & Fingal County Council invite you to join us and explore one of our communities “Hidden Gems” – The Tolka Valley

Mill Road Blanchardstown

We have 2 walks on the dayWalk 1. Starting at 2pmThis walk is family friendly, dog friendly (dogs on leads) and mobility friendly. Distance 1.5km We will commence at Mill Road (the old hospital entrance). We enter the Tolka Valley and walk through the park accompanied by a botanist who will highlight the rich biodiversity elements of this hidden gem, the native trees and lots more. We will walk to and around Waterville Lake and observe the wonderful nature embedded in this highly populated suburban area. The walk will take about one hour (including stops for talks). On completion we recommend you visit our Village highlights- coffee shops, restaurants, pubs, heritage buildings and take a moment to see the wonderful work completed by the Blanchardstow Tidy Towns volunteers ensuring our village remains a wonderful place to live, work and visit. Walk 2. Starting at 3.15pm﻿This walk starts at Mill Road and will last approximately one hour. It over a slightly rougher terrain and is not mobility friendly. The walk requires good walking shoes as ground can be quite muddy in places. This walk follows an unspoilt route along the River Tolka with waterfalls and bridges and we will be accompanied by a botanist who will highlight an area rich is native trees and wild flowers. This walk will serve as an introduction to a rarely explored part of the Tolka Valley which we hope will entice more experienced walkers to explore further in the future.
On completion we hope you visit our Village highlights coffee shops, restaurants, pubs, heritage buildings and take a moment to see the wonderful work completed by the Blanchardstown Village Tidy Towns volunteers ensuring our village remains a wonderful place to live, work and visit.
•	You can do both walks but ensure the walk suits your mobility needs
•	Children must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian
•	Dogs are welcome but must be on leads
•	Wear weather appropriate footwear and clothing 
Take photos en route which highlight any “hidden gems”. Best photos will be credited and posted on the Fingal County Council website
