The Social Audit Network (SAN) is a not-for-profit organisation which facilitates the exchange of information and experience between practitioners of social accounting and audit in the social economy and voluntary sectors. SAN holds regular meetings, events and an annual conference at venues around the UK, distributes a monthly SAN circularto its email network. The email network now consists of nearly 1400 contacts, mostly in the UK.

THIS IS NOW A FREE EVENT - The Social Audit Network Gathering 2023, with support from The Women&#x27;s Organisation.SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT:We are pleased to be joined by Millie Hawes, <a href="https://www.fieldfisher.com/en/people/millie-hawes" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Head of Just Purpose, Field Fisher</a> Millie Hawes is a disabled activist, Head of Just Purpose at Fieldfisher LLP, and Trustee of NeuroMuscular Centre. Millie works at Fieldfisher LLP driving strategic change within the ESG sphere by heading up its societal and environmental impact programme. Millie focuses on building holistic collaborations between the private and charity sectors, generating purpose-driven action that is led by community need. Alongside leading the corporate responsibility and sustainability team, Millie founded an award-winning disability employee resource group at Fieldfisher. Millie has advised on disability inclusion with the likes of the Financial Times, Oxford University, industry bodies and more. Millie regularly campaigns for the removal of societal barriers and recently worked with Habinteg, the BBC, and ITV to profile the accessible housing crisis in the UK and identify solutions for change.We will also be joined by Hayley Hulme, <a href="https://www.startswithyou.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Managing Director of Starts With You</a>, a social enterprise based in Bolton.Hayley has a background in social housing and urban regeneration. With a strong social conscience, she has always been motivated by making a difference and in particular the impact of her work on people and places. In January 2017 she became Managing Director of Starts with You, a fledgling social enterprise in Bolton with a mission to deliver Positive Change, empowerment, and opportunity through the delivery of commercial services. SWY has grown into an established, values-driven, and profitable social enterprise, creating opportunities in property services as well as delivering a range of free-to-access advice and guidance services for local people. The business puts its social purpose and team members at its heart and, driven by a desire to create an inclusive economy and fairer workplace, is on a mission to prove that business can be profitable, ethical, and kind.SAN will welcome its members and partners to an informal gathering at our home in Liverpool, to hear cross sector perspectives on the value of Social Accounting and Audit in the practice of managing and maximising social impact. You’ll meet experts from the community, private and public sectors as well as hearing an international perspective from our colleagues from SAN in India, where social accounting as part of impact measurement has really taken off . We encourage your active participation in this event - there will plenty of opportunities to ask questions, discuss impact measurement with experts and your peers, and join us for networking over lunch.
