"London Bridged: 3,500 years of crossing the Thames" by Charlie Forman

We are a membership society dedicated to the appreciation of fine and decorative arts. We organise ten lectures a year between September and June, all given by selected experts in their fields. Our lecture meetings take place at Bishop Perowne C of E College, Worcester and are also streamed live via Zoom.In addition to the lectures we run trips to places of interest in the UK and overseas.

TAS Worcester

The Thames has been bridged since the Bronze Age and then by the Romans. The last two centuries have seen over fifty additional crossings.

<p>People were bridging the Thames in the Bronze Age - 1,500 years before the Romans built London Bridge. The last 200 years have seen over 50 new crossings over and under the river. Some are great feats of engineering, some are architecturally elegant. Every crossover changes the city’s genetic code.</p>
