Cornwall Wildlife Trust are holding an full day's training event designed to introduce volunteers to our new water user survey forms.The data collected will help us build a better picture of how our inshore coastal waters are being used by people, for example fishing, swimming, paddle boarding, boating and jet ski use. Training will provide information on how to identify different types of vessels, as well as more detailed descriptions such as different symbols water users may use to indicate their activity when in the water. We are hoping to improve our understanding of seasonal patterns and high use areas to guide our conservation efforts.The training will be split over two sessions: <ul><li>Morning session - will be hosted online via Zoom, covering information on different categories of water users and how to identify them as well as how to conduct surveys. </li></ul><ul><li>Afternoon session - we will head out for a practical session on the clifftops in the afternoon to practice your new skills and conduct your first survey in the field. This will be taking place on Dodman Point near St Austell.</li></ul>C﻿ost for this training is FREE to attend.W﻿e welcome beginners as well as those who attended our first session last year and regular Seaquest Southwest volunteer surveyors.F﻿or anymore information please contact oscar.miller@cornwallwildlifetrust.org.uk.This training has been made possible through funding for the G7 legacy project and Your Shore.
