Bird and Gorton will deliver a bespoke online session to support you in realizing your career goals.

The workshop will explore how to transition from a PhD to self-employment or starting your own business, the key questions you need to consider, and what your first steps might be. The session is designed for students new to the idea of self-employment, as well as those with prior experience of self-employment who are considering how to update their offer during/following their studies. I﻿n this session you will:-	Learn about the practical steps and implications of setting up in business - tax, company structures, promotion-	Hear from experienced speakers who have made this transition from academic study to self-employment - top tips, challenges-	Ask questions about making the move to self-employment or starting their own business, and get some answers
