Is there parking at the Town Hall?

Accepted Answer

No.  There is limited parking, but central Reading is well served by public transport.  The Town Hall is just a short walk from the railway station.

Question 2

Who will be there?

Accepted Answer

We will have a range of lawyers of different PQE and disciplines.  Once you have booked your ticket we will ask you some questions about what areas you might be interested in.  If we get feedback from you about your interests then we will ensure that we have the relevant lawyers at the event.

Question 3

Do I have to attend for the whole four hours?

Accepted Answer

No.  This is a drop-in session.  You can attend at any time and we will be available to talk to you and answer your questions.  You can attend for as long as you like.  There are no set presentations and there is no fixed timetable for the event.  We will be available for the whole four hours.

Can I attend online?

Accepted Answer

Yes.  We are also running this drop-in session as an online event at the same time.  If you want to attend online, you can find details of that event also on Eventbrite.  Please book the online event to get the link.

Question 5

Will you maintain my confidentiality?

Accepted Answer

Yes.  We understand that if you are seeking to move jobs this can be a sensitive issue.  We can't guarantee that you won't meet other people in the event that you know.  You will be coming into a room with other people, so we can't guarantee your anonymity.

Question 6

Is this event relevant for me as a Trainee?

Accepted Answer

This event is geared towards qualified lawyers who may be interested in moving from a different sector into local government. Whilst it may have some interest for potential trainees into local government, we will be running a specific event later in the year for this.
