An event for local authorities to hear about the statutory biodiversity metric from Steve Panks at Natural England

P﻿AS is hosting this event for local authorities providing an introduction to the statutory Biodiversity Metric, which will be published by Defra in November. Steve Panks, Principal Specialist at Natural England will explain why the statutory metric is a key element of mandatory biodiversity net gain and this session will provide an overview of the metric and how it compares to Natural England&#x27;s metric 4.0.T﻿his session will not provide details on how to use or review the Biodiversity Metric and we recommend that anyone new to this work area looks at the <a href="https://www.local.gov.uk/pas/topics/environment/biodiversity-net-gain-local-authorities" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">PAS BNG webpages</a> and previous <a href="https://www.local.gov.uk/pas/topics/environment/biodiversity-net-gain-local-authorities/pas-biodiversity-net-gain-events" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">BNG events</a>, including on the Biodiversity Metric, before joiningThis event is for local authority officers only. Note that we will be recording the event and will share a recording and slides afterwards on our website, so if you are unavailable on the day or do not work for a local authority, you will be able to access it that way.
