The University Graduate School is dedicated to supporting University of Birmingham’s postgraduate researcher (PGR) community. Fostering cross-college, interdisciplinary communities and acting as a gateway to support and advice. We work closely with the other University support services to ensure our postgraduate researchers have access to a high quality experience.

Franz Jägerstätter, who refused to fight for the Nazis in World War II. When the Austrian peasant farmer is faced with the threat of execution for treason, it is his unwavering faith and his love for his wife, Fani, and children that keeps his spirit alive.If you are looking for an ambitious and visually absorbing film which will take you to another time and place, and yet powerfully resonate with the issues of our time, look no further. In a month dedicated to the remembrance of those who have died in the line of duty, we are inviting you to join us at Westmere for an evening of introspection about how the good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts of ordinary people who lived faithfully 'a hidden life'.Whether you are a fan of epic historical dramas, captivating cinematography or simply looking to bush up your German language skills, we are excited to see you at our film club in November! Please note that subtitles are available for parts not in English.Be sure to RSVP to secure your spot and bring your friends along!Westmere is located next to Winterbourne House on Edgbaston Park Road (G15 on the <a href="https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/contact/directions/index.aspx" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">campus map</a>).Please note: This is an alcohol free eventThis event is open only to University of Birmingham postgraduate researchers (PGR).PGR programmes include: MPhil, MMus, MRes, MA by Research, MSc by Research, MLitt, PhD, PhD with integrated study, EngD, DDS, MD, Higher doctorates and Professional doctorates.Registration will close 15 mins before the event start time or when tickets are sold out. We will be checking attendees against the Eventbrite registration and you may be refused entry if we have met capacity and you are not on the list.
