Since then she has secured £116m in contracts, tenders and grant funding for a range of clients in the commercial sector, including digital, training, legal and creative businesses. An advocate of business awards to raise profile and sales, Rachel has supported many clients to win national and regional accolades and has herself won several awards, including The British Business Awards Micro Business of the Year in 2022. The Area Lead for the Federation of Small Businesses in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, Rachel is also the chair of Annabel's Angels, a small charitable trust supporting cancer patients in Derby.Perhaps surprisingly, research consistently shows that the two main reasons why companies don’t win tenders or grants, are that they don’t… Answer the question that has been askedBack up claims with evidence(this also resonates for awards entries too!) Writing a winning bid takes time. Running her own small business, Rachel completely understands the challenges this brings. But you usually only have a matter of weeks to write a bid, and, if you want to win it, you do need to make it a priority, ensuring you free the right people and time to it.This is where a great bid writer can be worth their weight in gold, particularly when you are starting out. Not only can they help you navigate the procurement or grant process, but they also know what commissioners or providers are looking for, can help you avoid the pitfalls and showcase your capability to best advantage to pick up maximum marks. They also save you time. But it comes at a cost. This session will help you regardless of which route you decide to take. And dont forget our exhibition hall packed full of providers who can speak to you on a 121 basis to explore if their solution would be something to consider for your business. N o one is going to try to 'sell' you anything, this is an exploratory and educational support event, but of course you can pursue conversations after you have completed your research and due diligence as the exhibitors are also your local contacts for signposting.**Disclaimer**All information used in this presentation you are registering for is produced for information purposes only and is for the sole use of the attendees at the presentation.Whilst we feel this topic is beneficial to business owners, the views expressed are not intended to be and should not be viewed as individual advice or as a recommendation by RBS, NatWest or any third party.
