Plymouth Social Enterprise Network is a focal point for the social enterprise sector within Plymouth. We work to represent the interests of social enterprises, co-ops, community businesses and social impact businesses,  providing opportunities for them to influence the development of their sector. Collaborating with strategic national and local partners it is a voice for the Social Entrepreneurs of the city and works tirelessly to ensure that the vision of business for our future is a social one.

Are you ready to grow or to launch a new project? This workshop will support your social enterprise to get ready to take on investment.

PSEN is running a workshop looking at supporting your social enterprise around getting ready to take on investment.This could be being ready to take on grants, loans, community shares or other forms of finance.We’ll cover key points like: simple business planning, clear income generation plans, having a social impact concept and good governance. Together we’ll do an investment checklist to see the strengths of your organization and areas for development and look at sources of investment available.The session will be tailored for organisations who are established enough to be at investment stage. It will not be suitable for people or projects who are starting up or are specifically and only looking for grant funding.The session will be led by Plymouth's local Social Enteprise expert Gareth Hart, Director of PSEN and Iridescent Ideas CIC. ---------------------------------------------------------ACCESS and INCLUSION:As a network organisation, PSEN are are keen to be as inclusive and accessible as possible. We are also aware that we are learning about this every day and through each event we organise. Please give us as much notice as possible if you have a specific request. We will do our best but we cannot guarantee that all needs can be met at this event. If we cannot cater for you, please accept our apologies and our promise that we will aim for better next time.Zoom - This workshop is being delivered on an online conferencing platform. Zoom is free for you to use. You will need to download the app onto a suitable device before you attend the event. If you need our support with this, please email amerie@plymsocent.org.uk.Recording - If the group agree to it, we will record the session and distribute it to participants afterwards. If there are any objections from a group member, we will not do this.Materials in advance - If you would like us to provide the slide deck in advance of the event, please email gareth@iridescentideas.com.People - we anticipate up to 20 people at this event.
