Three generations of architects, along with Prince Albert himself, transformed South Kensington into an ideal Victorian-era district. We will explore the grand buildings erected at the peak of Britain's prominence and stroll through the quaint backstreets. We'll discuss the impact of technology on architecture and delve into the various styles of the Victorian era (spoiler: there is no Victorian style).The walk starts near the Prince Albert memorial and will conclude after about 2.5 hours near the South Kensington tube station.Please dress really warmly, as we will be spending a lot of time looking at buildings.Guiding you through this experience is Dmitry Bezzubtsev, an expert in architecture and the author of more than a hundred of architectural tours in 20 countries.
