ALCHEMISE: Rhubaba x misery party presents

Rhubaba is an artist-run organisation supporting artists in Edinburgh with an annual programme of development workshops, exhibitions and events. Established in 2009, Rhubaba initially housed ten recent graduates from Edinburgh College of Art and now looks to connect emerging artists with established peers for cross-community development.We are committed to generating a supportive workspace and a dynamic platform for local and international artists. Rhubaba aims to give early-career artists the opportunity to produce new work in a discursive environment, work collaboratively with other artist-led initiatives and explore wider debates in contemporary art, bringing exciting and challenging works to Scotland.Rhubaba is run by a revolving Committee who are in turn supported by a Board of Trustees made up of creative professionals including artists, curators, educators and academics.

Lassies! It's that time again. We’re cold. We’re wet. We’re exhausted. We’re spiritually drained AND bypassed. We’re tryin to go home but we don’t know where that is. We’re heartbroken. We’re miserable. And you know what? We’re ready to rise up anyway!!! misery (@miseryparty) IS BACK with one of our sweet special sexy sober parties and this time we’ve collabed with the babes at Rhubaba (@rhubaba) to bring you ‧₊˚✩ ALCHEMISE ✩˚₊‧ our first party in Scotland!! Join us on Friday 12th January from 8pm - 1am at Edinburgh's Wee Red Bar for a night of dance, food, chai &amp; non-alcoholic drinks, sculpture making, temporary tattoos, communal grief space, mystical forest installation, and more! <ul><li>DJ sets by Mojxmma and Aisha Mirza</li><li>Sculpture making with Josie Ko</li><li>Temporary Tattoos by Tanya Cui</li><li>Delicious Vegan Caribbean food by Queen Vital</li></ul> ALCHEMISE is a party to gather community resources, build solidarity and transform our grief to challenge oppressive social norms after the winter solstice. We’re calling all Queer, Trans POC, marginalised babes and their community to gather and decompress, grieve, move and breathe together after a particularly harrowing year. misery was created as a place for QTBPOC to come as you are. bring your sadness, your neurodivergence, your queerness, your kind of weird outfit, your transness, your melanin with you and celebrate them as one. you can cry if you want to. This is a sober space led by QTBPOC. Sliding scale tickets - FREE tickets for QTBPOC folx :) tell ur scottish pals!
