Do I have to attend in person or will there be a recording?

Please note all lectures will be recorded and distributed to the participants at the beginning of the next week. This should allow participants from different time zones, or those working catching up with the lectures. The recordings will remain available until the middle of January 2024.

Will there be time to ask questions?

Accepted Answer

There is usually a period for questions and discussion at about half-time and tea break and after the lecture. These are not being deducted from the lecture time, so it is possible that with the question time the lectures will end at c. 16.30 BST/GMT

Are we looking at early Christian or Jewish texts ?

Accepted Answer

This is a course on the archaeological remains of the two religions and the methodology behind studying the archaeology of religion in the Roman period. As such we will only refer to texts if they help us to understand the archaeology.

Question 4

Is there an intentional religious bias in the course?

Accepted Answer

No, this is a course on the archaeology of religion and how it is practiced in a nonreligious context. This course is for followers or all, any or no religious conviction, and will be conducted in an atmosphere of mutual respect and without prejudice. No politics!

I only want to attend some of the lectures. What can I do?

The easiest way is to contact mancent.courses@gmail.com and we can issue a Paypal invoice for you based on your selection.

Question 6

I can't see a 'buy' button? How can I buy a ticket?

Accepted Answer

There is a known problem with some computers and Eventbrite for online events. If you are one of them, please contact us at mancent.courses@gmail.com so that we can issue PayPal invoices instead.
