This conference brings together existing research, policy and practice on adolescent domestic abuse.

Adolescent domestic abuse, which includes physical, emotional, and/or sexual abuse that occurs between young people who are, or were, dating, is often overlooked in research, policy and practice. The current definition of domestic abuse leaves those aged under 16 in teenage relationships falling into the gap between child protection procedures and adult-focused domestic abuse policy. Academics, practitioners and policy makers are welcome.The programme includes:<ul><li>Keynote speakers including Assistant Chief Commissioner, Louisa Rolfe OBE, Metropolitan Police and National Police Chief Council lead for Domestic Abuse</li><li>Teenage relationships and abuse: What does the research say?</li><li>Sexual violence in teenage relationships</li><li>Specialist services and local government approaches to tackling adolescent domestic abuse</li><li>Discussion on next steps and a future research and policy agenda.</li></ul>The in person only conference is Thursday 18 April 2024 from 10:00 - 17:00 followed by a reception. Catering will be provided. The venue is the Oliver Thompson Lecture Theatre, C101, Tait Building at City, University of London, EC1V 0HB.Please enter through the main campus entrance at University Building across from Northampton Square. VISION and VASC team members will be there to greet and direct you C101, Tait Building.
