The rehang of the National Gallery's Early Italian paintings in the lower galleries tends to be both calm and collected. Beautifully displayed and sensitively lit, they look at their very best. And with a group limited to 12 (including me) we will be able to get in close, have a good look, and discuss each work in depth. Following on from NG02 (although you don't have to have been to that to enjoy this), we will look at the second generation of artists in the Florentine Renaissance, who were influenced by the variety of styles that came before. These will include Fra Angelico, Fra Filippo Lippi, Paolo Uccello and potentially more - depending, of course, on availability and exactly where conversation leads us.I will send a time and place to meet nearer the date - so please do contact me if you don't hear, as this event is organised by me, rather than the National Gallery, and they won't know who or where I am!
