We’ve been working with the best local, regional and national artists to ensure our programme really engages, enthuses, entertains and educates the 100,000 people living in our wards.

Learn the Ukulele with Sam BurtBox Youth, Hall Farm Road, Sunderland, SR3 2UYWednesdays from 31st January - 4th December (Every two weeks)9.30am - 11.30am Our intermediate ukulele classes are the perfect way to hone your developing skills through learning well known songs in a friendly ensemble of like minded players.You don’t need to read music to join, as easy to use song sheets are available. We also have a small range of ukes to borrow if you want to try a different kind. Ideally, you will have some basic skills on the uke, but we welcome beginners as long as you are a fast learner and have time to practice outside of the classes. The classes are enjoyable and productive and a great way to meet new people in the local community. If you are not sure if the class is for you, we would encourage you to just turn up and try it for one week – it could be the best decision you make in 2024! 16+Dates of sessions:Jan - 31st Feb - 14th, 28th Mar - 13th EASTER BREAK April - 24th May - 8th, 22nd June - 5th 19th July - 3rd SUMMER BREAK Aug - 21st Sep - 4th, 18th Oct - 2nd, 16th, 30th Nov - 13th, 27th Dec - 4th (TBC)Cost: £5 per session - payable at the session Due to the funding we receive, these workshops are for people living in Sunderland only.These workshops are offered by The Cultural Spring and subsidised by Arts Council England.Any questions please contact info@theculturalspring.org.uk
