Our 2-year Woolwich High Street Heritage Action Zone Project comes to an end in 2024 and we will be celebrating with Woolwich residents: join us!

Take a walk down memory lane with Carol Kenna, and immerse yourself in pictures of forgotten Woolwich. This talk is suitable for families with curious youngsters, but ALL will be welcome to learn about how the town has changed within living memory. Carol will be showing photographs and maps old Woolwich early 1900s to present day.This is a FREE talk organsied to celebrate the completion of the Woolwich High Street Heritage Action Zone project in 2024.BIOCarol Kenna lived with her grandparents, in Plumstead near Woolwich until the age of 12, so Woolwich was a family playground. Much later in life when researching her family tree she discovered that her grandmother had lived in Woolwich as a teenager and young woman and that Woolwich was home and workplace to many family members.In the 1970s Carol and her husband Stephen Lobb set up Greenwich Mural Workshop with a large studio / workshop in MacBean Centre in the back workshops of the Electric Company – JD Sports.The workshop produced mural, mosaics, posters and banners with local community groups and organisations and became involved in the various redevelopments of Woolwich and its riverside.CK will highlight some of the spaces in Woolwich from her personal viewpoint - childhood trips on Woolwich Ferry.
