Our 2-year Woolwich High Street Heritage Action Zone Project comes to an end in 2024 and we will be celebrating with Woolwich residents: join us!

Consider a different angle and learn about Woolwich's diverse history, from the perpspective of the Tibetan community in Woolwich. Tsering Passang will share how Tibetans have adopted their new home ‘Tashi Ling’ (meaning ‘Land of Happiness’ in Tibetan) and contribute to local economy and cultural diversity whilst remembering Tibet’s past historical connection with the place. In this talk you will discover the importance of and meaning behind the raising of the Tibetan Flag at the Woolwich Town Hall every year in March.This is a FREE talk organsied to celebrate the completion of the Woolwich High Street Heritage Action Zone project in 2024.BIOTsering Passang came to study in 1996 and moved to Woolwich in 2007. Founder and Chair of the Global Alliance for Tibet &amp; Persecuted Minorities, Tsering also supports the Greenwich Tibetan Association, which has over 100 Tibetan members living in the Royal Greenwich Borough.
