The aim is to enhance the imaginative, social, and confidence skills of children (ages 4 to 7) of Hong Kong parents living in the UK, assisting them in integrating into the new learning environment through play. This workshop will collaborate with Dr. Wing-kai Fung from the School of Education at Liverpool Hope University. The event will also include a psychological research questionnaire assessing the general conditions of children's play and personal development. Research results will be presented to the UK government to reflect service needs and published in academic journals.</p><p>For this study, Trafford Hongkongers CIC and Liverpool Hope University will not collect any personally identifiable information from participants.</p><h2>Dates and time</h2><ul><li>18th February 2024 (Sun), 8:00pm - 9:30pm (UK Time)</li></ul><h2>Platform</h2><p>Google Meet (The link will be provided after registration)</p><h2>Fee</h2><p>Free of charge</p><h2>Registration</h2><p><a href="https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/825198158907" title="https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/825198158907" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/825198158907</a></p><h2>Research questionnaire</h2><p><a href="https://forms.gle/36sNSVLbh5njMQL86" title="https://forms.gle/36sNSVLbh5njMQL86" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://forms.gle/36sNSVLbh5njMQL86</a></p><h2>Research Design</h2><p>This study will assess six children and parental characteristics:</p><ol><li>Parental Psychological Wellbeing;</li><li>Parental Subjective Wellbeing;</li><li>Parental play belief;</li><li>Parent-reported child playfulness;</li><li>Parent-reported child positive/negative affect; and</li><li>Parent-reported child character strength.</li></ol><h2>Research Ethics Approval</h2><p>The research design, assessment tools, and the actual implementation of the study have all been approved by the Research Ethics Committee of Liverpool Hope University, in compliance with consistent standards of research ethics and moral considerations involving human subjects.</p><h2>Privacy Protection</h2><p>In this study by Trafford Hongkongers CIC and Liverpool Hope University, the email addresses provided by participants during registration on Eventbrite will be collected and used solely for the purpose of matching pre-test and post-test data. The email addresses provided by participants in the questionnaire will be destroyed after the data matching process is completed.
