A free creative workshop for 16 to 25-year-olds with artist Alison Erika Forde, creating football collages using upcycled materials.

<h3>About this activity</h3><p>Join Alison in a playful exploration of identity, whilst trying a few art techniques such as collaging, including ways for creating your own collage papers.</p><p>This is a relaxed expressive session about making, so bring along an item from home that you connect with, (this could be a postcard/item of clothing/book etc) as a starting point for ideas &amp; inspiration, alongside a unique selection of collection items &amp; collage materials from the National Football Museum!</p><p>Tell us a song you’d like to add to our chill-time workshop playlist.</p><p><br></p><h3>About the artist</h3><h4>Alison Erika Forde (she / her)</h4><p>Alison is a visual artist/maker/painter exploring her mixed heritage, motherhood, class, the male gaze and northern-ness through art and zines.</p><p>She creates her distinctive imagery on an eclectic mix of objects. By re-using old, unwanted items including mass-produced second-hand prints, bric-a-brac and household wood, she injects new purpose into the discarded remnants. Drawing on imagery sourced from high art to the subcultural, Alison paints a window through to an alternate universe simultaneously familiar and unnerving, reaching for hope through darkness with disarming playfulness.</p><p>Alison has been practising art in and around Greater Manchester since graduating from MMU in 2008, exhibiting regularly in the UK and overseas, including exhibitions at Manchester Art Gallery, York St Mary's &amp; Glasgow Women's Library.</p><p>Alison is a founding member of art collectives Yiiikes! and Gang Of Five, as well as making limited edition zines.</p><p><br></p><h3>Hot Prospects creative workshops</h3><p>The National Football Museum is looking to team up with young people from the Greater Manchester area, engaging with our collections and exploring the links between football and creativity via a series of free artist-led workshops.</p><p>On Monday evenings and Saturday daytimes, the museum will play host to in-person sessions, exploring how art can harness the creative power of football. You can sign up for one, or all, whatever takes your fancy!</p><p>Following on from these workshops, you will be invited to apply to Hot Prospects, our first ever youth advisory group.</p>
